Your First Visit

It is the intention of everyone who works in this office to see that you receive the best dental care with as little inconvenience and discomfort as possible. Most people feel some degree of anxiety about having dental work, so we make every effort to see that your first visit, and all subsequent visits, with us are as easy as they can be. We think you’ll agree with the great majority of our patients that having dental work done at our office is no more traumatic than having a haircut.

Upon your first step inside the doors of the Smile Station Dental, you’ll find a unique approach to patient-centered dental care that is designed to help you feel at ease. We will review your medical and dental history, take a series of digital X-rays, photos and gather information about the current status of your mouth and teeth, and then Dr. Emery will perform a thorough clinical examination including an oral cancer screening. The dentist will listen to your concerns and help you understand the present condition of your mouth. With this information, the dentist will formulate a treatment plan that will address your problems, concerns, and help you gain the healthy, beautiful smile of your dreams! In a consultation away from the dental chair, all aspects of your treatment will be explained to you including the number of visits, finances, and insurance coverage. You’ll be able to ask any question you have and make all necessary decisions based on what’s right for you.

CLEANINGS & CHECKUPS

Your teeth should last a lifetime. Regular preventive care can help you enjoy a lifetime of good dental health – one that is free of toothache pain or other dental discomforts. Routine dental care is the best way to make sure that small problems do not become larger, more expensive ones. Dr. Emery recommends regular preventive care to keep your teeth healthy and your smile bright.

Your dental health affects your general health. A healthy mouth, with well cared for teeth, enables you to chew properly, speak clearly, and to smile confidently. Additionally, a healthy mouth protects your overall health. The health of your mouth is linked to heart disease and stroke, respiratory disease, arthritis, diabetes, gastrointestinal disease, and pre-term low birth weight babies. By caring for your natural teeth, you are contributing to your general well-being and enjoyment of life.

CONSULTATIONS & SECOND OPINION

Consultations are free, so come prepared with your questions. Dr. Emery will answer any dental question that pertains to your smile and concerns. Second opinions are also free of charge if you have a question about previously recommended treatment from another office. Please bring support documentation such as X-rays with you or there may be a small charge for taking additional records while you are here.
